Intro. to Unit 2, we read the SLM and discussed the key topics ... we joined a new GMM class to be used when in school Red & Blue groups, completed graphing on coordinate plane skills ... lesson 2-1 What's a function?  How can we tell if a relationship is a function? notes packet 2-1 , completed GMM skills 2.1a and 2.1b (recognizing functions)

Unit 1 Review, reviewed SLM (student learning map) discussed what we have studied so far, we filled in notesheet 1-6c showing examples of finding perimeter of composite shapes, , worked on Mixed Review for 15 minutes ... we joined a new GMM class to be used when in school Red & Blue groups, more practice with composite shapes ... lesson 1.6d notes & examples using the formula for finding Area of rectangles , practice time ... lesson 1.6d notes & examples, word problems similar to 1.6d, making a sketch, picking out correct info to use and identify what we know and what we are trying to find, practice time (proper LABELS are IMPORTANT), use A = L*W formula

pd. 4 - lesson 1-6 day 1 ... class started with us playing "Would You Rather?" ... this lead us to discussing Perimter & Area, which is what we will study in lesson 1-6 ... What's similar and what is different about Perimter & Area?, Mr R taught mini lesson 1.6a (examples in Schoology) ... next we were given the opportunity to take the follow up quiz 1-2 #1 .... we ended class working on Mixed Review

pds. 3 and 7 -  class started with Mr R discussing and sharing a Google Slide presentation about Compound Inequalities ... we completed two mini-lessons (1.4d1 and 1.4d2), they were both about translating "words" (verbal statement) into a compound inequality, this included graphing and thinking about what the set of solutions looks like ... (pd 3 took quiz 1-3 #1b, which included absolute value equations) ... opportunity for a follow up quiz 1-3 on Thursday, during our half day

pd. 6 - class began with students taking turns sharing their screens, we helped them answer practice problems from Mixed Review (including the dotted line problems from last weeks quiz) ... Mr R shared a mini-lesson (1.3g)  on how to solve a 2-step equation when there is a fraction coefficient ... after practicing that skill we worked on Mixed Review problems

Mr R shared mini lesson 1.6b (how to use perimeter to find the cost of something)  and mini lesson 1.6c (how to find the perimeter of a composite shape), after seeing several examples, we were given time to practice on our own ... Perimeter Quiz tomorrow

pds. 3 and 7 - we reviewed solving Abs. Value Equations ... lesson 1.4 about Compound Inequalities continues ... we completed two mini lessons, the first one was about Solving Compound Inequalities that were "and" statements (lesson 1.4e) and the second was about Solving Compound Inequalities that were "or" statements (lesson 1.4f) ... we were given time to practice solving these ... next class, Quiz 1-3 #1 "Follow up" (chance to improve our quiz score)

pds. 3 and 7 -  Mr R shared student ideas for solving the equations from last weeks 3 equation "show work" assignment ... we discussed the Unit 1 SLM ... we started lesson 1-3 day 1 learning about how to solve Absolute Value Equations, GMM skill practice time ... we finished with Mixed Review (especially focusing on the "dotted line" problems which are the mistakes from the quiz - follow up Quiz is later this week)

pd. 6 - class started with a discussion about what we have been doing and what we are going to be doing, Solving Equations ... we discussed "what do we remember about solving equations?"...Mr R shared a mini lesson 1.3a which was about "translating" real world situations into 1 step equations (GMM skill work practice) ... next we covered mini lesson 1.3b which was about "translating" real world situations into 2 step equations with parenthesis  (GMM skill work practice) ... we took Quiz 1-2 #1 and worked on Mixed review the 2nd half of class

Mr R shared two mini lessons, these were more advanced equations to solve (1.3e and 1.3f, examples in Schoology folder) ... we were given lots of time to practice and visit the Help Room if needed  ... tomorrow we will have a follow up opportunity to improve last weeks quiz 1-2 #1 and we will be taking the Equation Quiz 1-3 #1
